In response to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, which aim to provide justice to all, the Next Century Foundation submitted the following statement on the Lebanese Republic to the 2021 UN Economic and Social Council High-level Segment.
In this statement, which focuses on Lebanon’s governance, the NCF calls on Lebanon to implement bicameral governance in accordance with the Taif Agreement of 1989. The report details suggestions for the formation of the Upper House, recommends proportional representation in electing the Lower House, and recommends two changes to current electoral laws:
