The UN Human Rights Council must pursue a serious and consistent strategy against the conflict mineral trade that wreaks havoc on the lives of so many Congolese people. The UK Justice Congo Group has sent a written declaration to the UN Human Rights Council’s 54th session together with The Next Century Foundation.

We wish to again emphasise the fundamental need to address the role of ‘conflict minerals’, as well as the intervention of Rwanda and other East African Community states, in the DRC.
